1. The Liturgy.
Jesus Christ, always, reminded the Jews that He came not to abolish the Law but to perfect it. His whole preaching consists in perfecting the Old Testament Law to introduce the New testament, the era of grace. The Old Testament spirituality could be learned and obeyed without the aid of grace. But the New Testament cannot be understood, learned and obeyed without the help of God’s grace.
Salvation is ‘to be perfect as the heavenly Father is perfect,’ and this is in the supernatural level where grace is greatly needed. So we see in today’s Gospel Christ seeing the Pharisees obeying the life of repentance according to the Old Testament and unable to rise up to the supernatural level to observe the life of repentance of the New Testament. Thus their sins could not be forgiven.
St. Thomas of Aquinas distinguished the Old Testament repentance which St. John the Baptist said could not forgive sins, to the New Testament repentance that Christ would introduce which alone could forgive sins. Catholics, today, go to confession using the Old Testament repentance, thinking wrongly that that can forgive sins. No wonder God had cancelled all confession during the two years pandemic because everybody has got it wrong. Everybody has remained in the state of sin that will surely sent them to hell and nobody knows it, because those who are supposed to teach this doctrine, the priest, bishops and Pope Francis, don’t know it themselves. Proof? Nobody has preached the New Testament life of repentance correctly up to today. Check it up in all the videos in You tube and in treatises in the Internet. None!
It could be somewhere in the Internet but I have not found it yet. But I see it in the writings of the Fathers and Doctors of the Church in my library. Let us see the life of repentance according to the Old Testament and, then, see the life of repentance perfected by Christ in the New Testament which alone can forgive sins and consequently perfect a soul ‘like the Heavenly Father is perfect,’ the requirement for the salvation of soul.
2. Old Testament life of repentance.
As taught by St. John the Baptist, the life of repentance consist in Prayer, fasting and good works. These are all in the natural level; prayer is praying the psalms in the natural level asking for long life, material prosperity and good health. Fasting is giving up of physical things like food and drink. Good works is feeding and giving drink to the hungry and thirsty. These three acts accompany sorrow for sins and purpose of amendment never to sin again. St. John said, this did not forgive sins.
3. New Testament life of repentance.
Consist in attaining the spiritual virtue of Penance through a life of prayer, fasting and good works done by the spiritual faculties of the soul. Prayer is the lifting up of the mind and heart to God. Fasting is giving up the desires of the mind and heart. Good works is performing the spiritual works of mercy towards others. Everything is in the spiritual level. The New Testament life of repentance must be done together with the Old Testament life of repentance. What forgives sins is the latter and not the former.
Christ, as St. John the Baptist said, came to perfect the Old Testament repentance and introduce the New Testament repentance which is essentially an act of grace that really forgives past sins.
4. The error of the institutional church and the pandemic.
The institutional church, i.e. the Vatican, your diocese and your parish teach that sins are forgiven through the Old Testament repentance, while omitting entirely the New Testament developing of the virtue of Penance. St. Thomas noted this great error; in that the O.T. repentance does not forgive sins. It is the New Testament repentance that gives grace and the virtue of Penance that forgives sins.
God sent the Corona virus that cancelled all confessions, was to remind mankind that the forgiveness of sins cannot be attained by any other way except through the New Testament repentance through the attainment of grace and the virtue of Penance that can be easily attained through an environment of being locked down in one’s home.
5. The Pharisees bogged down in the Old Testament.
Christ, in the Gospel, was correcting the Pharisees for being bogged down in the Old Testament and unable to enter into the New Testament, thus could not have their sins forgiven. They were bogged down in the natural level and unable to rise up to the spiritual act of repentance.
Of course, one needs grace to receive the grace of Penance and rise up to the supernatural level of the New Testament, which the Pharisee could not do. Our priest, bishops and Pope Francis are in the same state; they have remained in the natural level, like concerned on global warming, and are unable to rise up to the spiritual level. Unable to rise up from the natural level, they are unable to remain in the natural level. For to be bogged down in the natural level is to be punished to regress to the unnatural level.
Lately in the Philippine news, our bishops went against the government’s effort to build a damn to supply the Catholic Filipinos with potable water and irrigation system to provide more farms to produce food. God’s command is to give drink to the thirsty and good to the hungry. The bishops are not doing that and they even prevented the government to provide both drink and food. If they could perform this work of corporal mercy, should they not allow the government to provide both? The bishops could not and even prevented the government from doing so.
Our bishops could not even be as good as the Pharisees who bragged that they gave food and drink to the poor. Christ said; to go to heaven you must surpass the righteousness of the Pharisees. Being worse than the Pharisees, where will they go?
Not only were they unable to provide spiritual food and drink for the souls of the Filipino soul. They would not provide food and drink for the body. And even prevented the government from providing both. Not only did they descend from the spiritual level. They descended below the natural level so they must be in the unnatural level. So we see them officiating in same sex ceremonies. And a few are known to have affairs with the same sex.
Souls can only be saved if they are in the spiritual level. Souls cannot be saved in the natural level. All the more, souls cannot be saved in the unnatural level. So where are our bishops going? And dragging both the government and the people down to hell with them. Does the Fatima apparition on hell look familiar?
6. During the pandemic.
Today, while millions die, with their faithlessness they spend their time forbidding the Sacraments while teaching no one how to die. Like all faithless people, they have remained in the natural level, occasionally descending to the unnatural level; and never rising to the supernatural level, the level where the Catholic church exists. Are they Catholics?
